If you want to experience authentic historic motorsport, the ADAC 1000 km race weekend is not to be missed. The race takes place on the entire Nürburgring circuit, i.e. the combination of the Grand Prix course and the legendary Nordschleife – where man and machine are pushed to their limits. Similar to the 24-hour race, the extensive racing action over several days offers visitors the opportunity to follow the action from a wide variety of angles.

Three days of historic motorsport from 18 to 20 September 2026
The focus is on two races for the German Historic Endurance Championship (DHLM), which will be held on Saturday and Sunday, each lasting three hours. The programme will be complemented by a special premiere race: the Golden Era touring cars will compete in their own race on the full Nürburgring circuit for the first time.
Another highlight is the Grand Prix for touring cars built between 1965 and 1976 in accordance with Appendix K regulations, which brings the history of touring car racing impressively to life.

For many visitors, walking through the starting grid is one of the absolute highlights. The "sacred" asphalt underfoot, the perfectly prepared racing cars up close and often a personal chat or selfie with a driver. An extended tour of the paddock is just as much a part of it as the subsequent visit to the grandstands or one of the spectacular sections of the track along the Nordschleife.
