Highlights 2021 – 1000km-Race

When the 1000km race returns to the starting line after many years on Saturday, September 18, 2021, there will be many highlight vehicles for every taste.

From 1953 to 1983 - in other words, for 30 years - the race on the overall circuit made motorsport history. This is where many of the unforgettable pictures were taken, where there were insane fights for positions, tragedies, and radiant winners.

An exciting field of regulation-compliant motorsport vehicles

From 1984, the 1000km were only run on the Grand Prix circuit. In many cases as Group C races with Porsche 956s, 962s or the husky Sauber-Mercedes.

What has to be taken into account for today's starting fields: Some of the open sports prototypes and some of the very legendary racing sports cars of the fifties are unfortunately no longer allowed to start in a 1000km race today according to DMSB regulations and track protocol for the overall circuit.

Thus, the 1000km race 2021 is the return of a traditional event to an incomparable place - but the race is also quite consciously open for regulation-compliant motorsport vehicles of the years after 1983. Motorsport is alive - and thus remains alive!

The list of highlights in the 2021 1000km race - it can never be complete - therefore also offers vehicles for every "taste":

NSU TT, BMW 2002 Ti, Porsche 911 Carrera RSR, Mercedes 190E 16 V, Porsche 934/5, Porsche 964 Cup, Ginetta G4, Alfa-Romeo 1750 GT-Am, Ford Escort RS 2000, Hillman Imp, Porsche 928 Gruppe IV, Golf I GTI oder BMW 635 CSI, Porsche 356 A…
